Robert T. Lahey, President & CEO
Construction Safety Council (CSC)
Robert Lahey is the President & CEO of the Chicagoland Construction Safety Council – the area’s premier provider of affordable, accessible training to industry professionals. For more than three decades, the CSC has collaborated with employers and employees to prevent jobsite injuries and fatalities. The Council’s year-round calendar of events includes 300 programs attended by 4,000 persons for the purpose of creating healthy environments and ensuring that every worker returns home safely.
Gene Kent, IN-TECH Director
IBEW-NECA Technical Institute (IN-TECH)
Gene Kent is the Executive Director of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers – National Electrical Contractors Association (IBEW-NECA) Technical Institute (IN-Tech). Over his 27-year career Gene has developed a passion for the unionized electrical industry. As Director of IN-Tech, Gene’s passion has helped support and develop the people of the unionized electrical industry. Gene has earned a B.S. from Illinois Institute of Technology, a M.S. in Education Design from Purdue University, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership at Concordia University.
Erin Keane, Executive Director
Electrical Insurance Trustees (EIT)
Erin Keane has been the Electrical Insurance Trustees Fund Executive Director, serving the Electrical Contractors Association and IBEW Local Union 134 in Chicago since July 2022. Ms. Keane is responsible for managing the operations of the Fund Office including various health and welfare plans, as well as the defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans.
Elbert Walters, III, Executive Director
Powering Chicago
Elbert Walters, III is the Executive Director of Powering Chicago, an electrical industry labor-management partnership between IBEW Local 134 and the Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago that invests in consistently better construction, better careers, and better communities within the metro Chicago region. A former business representative for IBEW Local 134, Walters leads Powering Chicago’s 100+ philanthropic and community impact initiatives each year and plays a key role in its daily operations.
Ali Novinger, Executive Director
Electric Association (EA)
Ali Novinger is the Executive Director of the Electric Association (EA). The EA provides members of the electrical industry of Chicagoland and their employees with: formal educational opportunities, professional development, information exchange, and member services. The EA serves as the interface between various organizations serving the same industry, and foster the interchange of ideas, product knowledge and programs in order to create the best external environment possible for conducting business in the electrical industry.
Stephanie Kifowit, Executive Director
Construction Industry Services Corporation (CISCO)
Stephanie Kifowit, a current State Representative who is leaving the Illinois House at the end of her term, has served the residents of Illinois for the past 14 years. She has more than 20 years of experience in government, finance and non-profit management. After her service in the United States Marine Corps, Kifowit completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Northern Illinois University. Prior to being a State Representative, she was an Alderman with the City of Aurora and a Registered Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. Over her tenure in the General Assembly, she has been on numerous state budget committees and budget working groups, currently she is the chair of Pensions and Personnel Appropriations Committee.
